This jersey is built on Carnival—the world-famous pre-Lenten festival that, in Trinidad & Tobago, carries a much deeper story. After emancipation in 1834, formerly enslaved people took to the streets in celebration, using masquerade, rhythm, and costume to reclaim public space and write themselves back into the center of the island’s story.
The design pulls from that energy: explosive color bursts, feather patterns inspired by mas bands, and geometric forms that nod to steelpan, the only acoustic instrument invented in the 20th century—born from oil drums turned into music. The patterning tries to feel like calypso and soca in motion: layered, loud, and impossible to stand still in.
Underneath the visuals is the mix that makes Trinidad, Trinidad: African, Indian, European, and Indigenous threads, plus dougla identity—people whose heritage is both African and Indian. CARNIVAL is meant to sit at that crossroads as Trinidad Carnival fashion, Caribbean festival clothing, and steelpan streetwear—a jersey that feels like J’Ouvert at 4 a.m., even when you’re just walking down your block.
